Extra magical firepower might not be the worst idea, but too many chefs in the creature-hunting kitchen and all of that. [Not to mention layers of potential drama. No, in the end, it really might be better to strip the party down and go with the essentials. Fewer distractions means a quicker push towards putting the creature in the ground where it belongs.
